ADAPTIVE Program Instructors

Adaptive Programs refers to a large section of offerings from ATS. These programs range from our work with special needs children that suffer from mental and physical handicaps to urban & at-risk youth taking their first trips into the wildernesss.


Each season, we run regular weekly programs with our adapative partners who include Ability First and L.A. Bridges.


The programs range from single-day adventure outings, to multi-day expedition trips.


Being an ATS Adaptive Programs Instructor

Age: Team Members must be at least 18 years of age

Medical Qualifications:
Must have a Wilderness First Aid certification or greater

Personal Qualifications:
Must be comfortable and willing to work with special needs children and/or at-risk youth. Due to the special needs of this client, we ask you to have prior experience working with this population group.


Responsibilities:
Instructing courses, teaching new skillsets, cleaning & maintaining gear, developing new programs, having fun.

Disciplines:
Our adaptive programs include canyoneering, rock climbing, snorkeling, whitewater rafting, adventure walks, yoga, ocean & stillwater kayaking, & expedition backpacking.

Season:
Year round ~ 2-3 Days a Week

Compensation:
$80-$120 a day, $60 for half day programs
