The ATS Anchor II Climbing Course is an advanced top rope anchor class designed as continued education from our Anchor Building I class curriculum. Topics covered include complex anchor placements - both natural and artificial, complex anchor equalizations, complex master point extensions, and climber directionals. We will also cover advanced belay skills, including top belays, bottom redirected belays, and climber raising lower out techniques.

Course Locations & Times
Our Anchor I climbing courses take place at various climbing areas in the Western United States depending on season and desired location. The locations vary from Idyllwild to Joshua Tree to Red Rocks and more. Please visit out course schedule page for specific locations.
Unless indicated otherwise, all courses are full day courses, usually meeting at 8AM and going until sunset.

Anchor II Climbing Course Prerequisites
Knots to know: figure "8" on a bight & follow through, clove hitch, water knot (for webbing), and double fisherman. Student must have the ability to tie into a rock climbing harness correctly and belay a climber using standard belay device. We will train on the gri-gri and the ATC.
