The Abridged History of ATS


1999
ATS was formed and begins programming in Hawaii, Joshua Tree N.P., & Sequoia N.P.
2000
ATS documents the first of dozens of Hawaiian canyon first descents.
2001
ATS establishes itself as the first canyoneering school outside of Utah.
2001
ATS realizes the need for a safer more effective and efficient style of training for canyoneer’s and rock climbers. The instructional flow chart was created for both disciplines.
2002
ATS begins training on the WCCM.
2003
ATS expands into Northern CA and NV through an exclusive partnership with Sport Chalet.
2004
ATS continues to grow its programming along the west coast including the standardization of training on the WCCM for all ATS employees.
2005
ATS continues to grow by expanding into AZ through their partnership with Sport Chalet. Product development begins with several major equipment manufactures. ATS begins offering environmental action days.
2006
ATS designs the first of four products in partnership with Sterling Rope designed specifically for canyoneering. ATS hosts the largest canyoneering environmental clean up day ever! ATS rolls out the first and only outdoor adventure film festival founded in Southern CA. ATS begins offering Wilderness First Aid courses through WMI.
2007
ATS adds whitewater kayaking, and rafting programs as they expand into Colorado. ATS rolls out a series of expedition canyoneering hullaballoo's around the world. Working in conjuction with Sport Chalet, ATS begins offering adventures via Action Pass.
