Nature Photography Workshop

Nature Photography Workshop Overview

This full day course serves as an excellent introduction into basic outdoor photography. As you learn composition and exposure rules, you may get a chance to photograph wildlife along with flowing water, plants, vistas, and the sky.

Students must have prior familiarity with their cameras and a good background in the basic concepts of photography.

The Nature Photography Workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Macro Photography
  • Using a Histogram
  • Rules of Composition
  • Proper Exposure
  • Color Balance
  • Photographing Moving Water
  • Lens Choice
  • Aperture / Shutter Speed / ISO
  • Depth of Field
Camera Qualifications:
You must own a digital SLR and/or 35mm SLR film camera. On the registration form you will indicate your camera model. If you have a question regarding your camera please contact the instructor - nick@alpinets.com.

Workshop Tuition:
$165 per person. Group Minimum of 4. Private Dates available upon request.

Not Included:
Transportation from your hometown to the group meeting point; camera; insurance of any kind; meals; gratuities and items of a personal nature.

Course Location, Meeting Spot, and Time:

This workshop will take place in the Angeles National Forest above Pasadena, California. Typically, we will meet at 9AM.

Weather:
Temperatures can range from 60 - 85° F depending on time of year. Upon registration, a seasonal and location specific gear recommendation list will be sent electronically.
